Nerdy accountant Harold and his irrepressible friend, Kumar, get stoned watching television and find themselves utterly bewitched by a commercial for White Castle. Convinced there must be one nearby, the two set out on a late-night odyssey that takes them deep into New Jersey. Somehow, the boys manage to run afoul of rednecks, cops and even a car-stealing Neil Patrick Harris before getting anywhere near their beloved sliders.

Full disclosure: I never smoked pot, and I never liked White Castle. I never traveled across the state of New Jersey to satisfy a severe case of the munchies. However, there are a lot of reasons why this film is so special to me.

So pull down those trousers, grab the nose-hair scissors and let's go trim our pubes.

This movie was totally EXTREME.

This movie is funny... not like super funny... but funny and it has a lot of interesting things to say about race. Harold and Kumar is really more about criticizing white people for their participation in various forms of racism than it is about propping up Asian people but that's okay because it's done well. In fact, all of the people of color in this film are fairly grounded people while all of the white people are campy freak shows (literally in one case) that are the worst people on earth... it's amusing and entertaining the way it's done.

I honestly can't believe I've seen this one like 6 times before, but never stoned.
They just don't make feel good movies like this anymore. There's very few movies that literally have me smiling all the way through, this is definitely one of those films though. I need the fourth movie to come out already.
This movie is like if lord of the rings was about fatty food.
